Position Summary
We're looking for an outgoing and friendly person who loves to drive to be our Patient Transporter. Excellent customer service, hospitality and driving skills are critical as you will be providing patients with transportation from their homes to the New Life Clinic and back home daily.
We are looking for someone who demonstrates patience and compassion since our clinic often sees patients when they are feeling their worst. It is important that our staff believe in our patients so they can learn to believe in themselves. A non-judgmental approach is key.
While a kind heart is a requirement, an organized mind is also needed for this position.
NO more than 3 minor moving violations or any major moving violations in the past 3 years.
NO severe traffic violations in the past 7 years.
MUST be 25 years of age or older
Key Responsibilities
Transport patients from their places of residence in Mendocino and Lake Counties to New Life Clinic and back home daily.
Ensures that patient transportation is conducted with the utmost care and in full compliance with all traffic laws and regulations.
Complete daily safety checks of all vehicles and maintain operational records of maintenance and safety checks.
Instructs passengers in requisite safety precautions and practices while being transported.
Establishes and maintains communication with patients and coworkers to improve quality of service and customer satisfaction.
Comforts patients and their families by offering support and encouragement; being punctual and attentive to procedure schedules; demonstrating caring and cultural sensitivity.
Respects and protects patients’ confidence and confidentiality.
Follows all protocols and procedures to ensure safe delivery of patients and their possessions.
Reports on all passenger behavior issues to management.

Additional Training Support
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma (bachelor's degree preferred).
21 years of age or older.
Must be extremely reliable and punctual.
Possess a valid California State Driver’s license.
No DUI convictions within the last 15 years.
Provide proof of a clean driving record.
Effective communication; written, verbal, and interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution.
All Applicants Must Have:
Ability to pass background and drug screening
Commitment to patient-centered, culturally responsive care
Ability to complete First Aid and BLS certification within the first 60 days of employment.
Must be able to pass DOT physical.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in a health care, or clinical environment
Experience working with diverse or underserved populations in a medical or clinic setting
Security experience is preferred (having both private and public sector is a plus).
1-2 years or more in medical/ or non-medical transport, passenger transport, or relevant role preferred.
Experience working with Tribal communities
A strong understanding of cultural competency, and culturally safe practices
Strong communication skills and including the ability to facilitate sensitive conversations
